STUDY AT NEW GARAGE ARTS

  • PHOTOGRAPHY / CINEMATOGRAPHY FOR ARTISTS

Dates and times for this course are in development. If you are interested in participating, please get in touch.

This course of study is interested in light, perception and the lens-based tools and concepts we use to understand, explore, and express our relationship with existence through image creation. Technical aspects of photographic processes for still and motion will be incorporated as relevant to the goals of the participants. Through discussion and experimentation we will consider the implications of photography on consciousness and visual art.

New Garage Arts has three full-frame digital single-lens reflex cameras, interchangeable lenses and one editing station. Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras and editing stations / computers if feasible.

Working in groups across disciplines is also encouraged, for example, a textile artist, movement artist and lens based artist could see this as an opportunity to study or hone their practices in a collaborative fashion.
